If you want to run the 32bit compile from 64bit machine, this page may help:

It sets up a 32bit chroot to run the compile.

Instead of 64bit libs, a *.deb file to resolve dependencies would be 
nice. This probably would solve some other issues where a distro has its 
own flavor of libs built. (i.e. pulse vs alsa)
