Another aspect of the API that I would find useful is the ability to 
send a mousedown to a button. Specifically, I'd like to have a proxy of 
the Push-to-Talk button that I could use from the Croquet client (or the 
Squeak UI wrapper).. That way, a Croquet user can maintain complete 
contact with the SL world via chat and voice.

More generally, a way of controlling the UI of the SL client via an 
external application or shell script would be the way to go to allow 
interfaces between the SL client and applications in general. That 
should probably be a freebie resulting from making the GUI elements of 
the client scriptable in the first place.
