IMO, "Linden Lab" should be Rob here.

But, I believe his intention was good, if in my opinion misguided. I
expressed my discontent on that a few times, but ended up deciding that
I've made my opinion clear enough, and just decided to stop using the
wiki for anything that remotely resembles discussion at all. So the
moment the discussion is forced to move to the wiki, that'll be the last
thing I'll know about it.

He's done a lot of good as well though, and I really appreciate it. But
that was one of the things that was from my POV completely backwards.

Discussion should be encouraged, not suddenly stopped in its tracks
right when it's starting to get interesting and redirected into a medium
completely unsuitable for it. 

I think a certain amount of offtopic discussion should be tolerated on
the list. We can't really get to know each other if we only post on dry
technical matters.
