It probably appears out of scope because the published implementation of 
COLLADA uses a more standalone-ish server.

 From the dump you stated, it sounded more like you just wanted a 
flat-file backup version -- that would be a filter. I'd be more in favor 
of a secondary database for backup usage and as a hop to back-end 
automation.
