"Somewhere" I read that to submit a new feature, one could create a bug
("missing feature") and submit the feature as fix.

IIRC, somebody official wrote this, but I don't have the source URL
handy right now.

Line-history is something that was on my "list of top 10 itches to
scratch", too :)
