Executive Summary: Soft Noel = Soft Linden. Joy! Soon: smuggling
patches into LL.
A number of ya know me from SLDev[-Traffic] and haunting Rob's office
hours whenever I've been able. To those of you who don't know me: Hi!
I'm happy to say that I've taken a job at Linden Lab. I'm going
through the "onboarding" process right now, which lasts a couple
weeks. After I've finished my orientation, I want to start holding
meetings for developers with contribution agreements on file. If you
have questions related to projects in development, or patches that are
ready for incorporation but haven't been given attention, I want to
ensure you've got a straight pipeline to any help you need.
If you haven't signed a contributor agreement, please consider sending
one in. You've got a couple weeks before our first meeting:

If you've sent a contributor agreement in, but never received a
confirmation, feel free to email me at soft at softnoel.org with both
your SL name and RL name. I can check to verify that you're on the
list.
The process for submitting patches hasn't changed, and it's documented
very well here:
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Submitting_patches
What is changing is that I'm going to start ensuring that every patch
gets acceptance or constructive feedback, and that contributors get
extra technical help when they need it. While LL's patch acceptance
has improved a lot in recent weeks, I hope I can help make it better
still. When you make the effort to help us out, it's the least we can
do in return for the favor.
In the near term, I should be making Rob's office hours regularly from
now on - nobody looks at me askance if I ask to go on SL for an hour
or so at work anymore. :) Catch ya there!
