[sldev] Opening the server source?

It's all a question of the license to attach to the source code. If it's
not open source for a start you don't need to fear competitors. Of
course they can learn from that source but still would need to
reimplement all of it.
Google, I think, is probably already going their own path internally
which is most likely Google Earth based.
Anyway, I guess there is not too much advantage anyway to having
the source if you cannot run it and it would add a bit of work on LL's
side to open it up sooner (which is maybe spent better otherwise).
So maybe some better explanations of how things work would be
good for a start (but honestly I haven't checked what is around I just
know some details at least from Zero's office hours. Then again I guess
it could always be more ;-) ).
