While I think that the privacy pocket is a good idea, I do not think that
Lindens banning of the people in question was indiscriminate. In the US
in particular and in the world at large mostly, using technology in ANY
form to simulate underage porn is simply illegal. This includes using 3D
chat worlds to engage in "fantasy".
So much in the same way that LL acted to ensure they do not support
internet gambling, they have done so for child porn. This also very
obviously is why they decided to stir the hornets nest with regards to age
verification. Not so much for OUR protection but more for business
protection. It would be the end of many a career at LL if all they had
worked for was suddenly shut down by the feds for being allowed as a safe
haven for pedos and minors pretending to be majors.
So yes, the privacy pocket would be EXCELLENT idea. However, such things
should be balanced with the need to remain in compliance with laws and
codes of conduct which are rightly and justifiably in place.
