[sldev] ESC exempt from open source and GPL licensing?

I (rightfully I hope) give LL a lot of shit, but this is kinda unfair.

LL gave *us* half a million lines of code, we've given them what? 
10,000 lines back?

Keep it in perspective here.  What LL is doing is not even that unusual, 
and certainly not unprecedented.
