It can be, but if the idea as shuch show obviur problems, why can't the
solutions to these problems be given out, an idea of how these problems
are going to be solved stated.
Queality, can't be tested into a product, testing can never prove
quality, testing can also never say anything about security. The current
suggested solutions takes a fully changadge interface and narrow it down
to a string, a uri, oneway one time, and very limitred interface.
Somehow I have really hard to understand how this can add flexibility.
Also as this in many cases are part of a sandbox, trying to protect the
user of the computer from just what LL are trying (or saying they like
to archive.) I see big risk for future incompabilities.
I'm sure a good design to reach the goals can be made, however the goals
are secret, and bound to change in the future without notice (Zero's
comment in one of the sessions about this.)
None of the specifics are given out yet, the risks and problems are
obvous and but some magic these are not an issue, the problesm have so
far not been worth a comment from LL. Make one bleive that to much is
already invested, some developers or projectleaders have to much
prestige into this already so it have to come true whet ever cost, have
you spend X ammounth on something you can't scrap it what ever, it's to
expensive to accknowlge failure.
(One could noticte that the onle know big hole so far in SL have come
from this interface that are going to be made mandatory byt this
proposal.)
