[sldev] Viewer Security Record?

Hi All,
Like many others, I'm going to have to work to convince our corporate
IT folks to allow the bog-standard, compiled-by-Linden SL viewer to run on
our corporate desktops.
Objections include the fact that SL is a game (easily refutable), that
it uses
non-standard network ports (a big issue but solvable) and that the
binary might have
security holes, trojans, or other nastiness buried inside.
Now that the viewer has been available in source form for a while I
would like
to be able to tell them (if is indeed the case) that many eyes have been
over
the code and that no major security issues have surfaced to date.
Has anyone else been through this before? What kind of ammunition did you
use?
