There's been dozens of serious security problems.  Thing is, they all 
affect in-world permissions and such.

Thus far, I don't think anyone has actually exploited a buffer overflow 
  or flaw in the client to exploit the client system.  There have been a 
few, but they've been fixed before anyone bothered writing an exploit 
(assuming they were even exploitable in the first place).
