Hi,

I am Bill Hoffman, a CMake developer from Kitware (www.kitware.com).
I noticed that you were considering using CMake instead of scons.  This 
was the
same switch that the KDE folks made last year.   If you are interested

In addition to providing a cross platform build system, CMake includes CTest
and CPack.   CTest is a testing system that can populate dashboards like 
these:

CPack is a tool used to create installers like NullSoft on windows, and
debian packages on linux.  I use it to create the binary releases of CMake.
