[sldev] Interesting IP connection activity from Second Life client

So I installed some new firewall software to stomp out a pesky bug. It
worked. But in starting up Second Life for the first time, I noticed
something interesting.

It connects to a linden load balancer and an amazon software
site....ok...that's expected I guess....but then it tried to make a
connection to a google address....huh???

Anyone more familiar with the code know why it would be doing this?  Anyone
seen this before?
