I would just like to note that while Apple started the trend towards
glossy overhead-lighted UI elements they've increasingly abandoned
them or toned them down in more recent versions of OS X.
Tab icons (like in the finder sidebar, or in the top row of the edit
box in SL) don't tend to have capsules at all.
I don't think you want to emulate OS X directly, but it may be
worthwhile steering clear of the aggressive glossiness I'm seeing here.
Personally, I prefer Max Rudberg's "Milk" theme to the standard OS X

interface, the smooth matte buttons look much more professional than
the glossy ones.
