Despite the light bulb, it does seem easier to read black on white than 
white on black because the mind tends constantly refocus on darker 
backgrounds. It may be the glossy "behind you" reflection being noticed 
and easier seen on the dark background.

..anxious for e-ink style monitors ... but it may not look "virtual" 
anymore =)
