A web service for this would be a great help for many things IMHO. Like
requesting parcel data from a region might be very useful.
Of course this needs to take into account whether a sim is public or not and
what permissions you have there actually.

As for object information I guess this would be more complicated but still
it would be handy
so have some API for requestion info about objects on a sim or maybe queried
on a different set
of variables. This would make external search engines more easily possible.
Issues here are of course how to opt-out etc. But even this could be more
easily solved
by Linden Lab than by any 3rd party which scans the grid via bots.

PS: And I still would like a web service for uploading new assets to my
account like textures or sounds :-)
