Here's some of my recent patches suitable for incorporation for testing 
and code review:

Note that with VWR-6, that patch is correct, but the new code in llui 
has completely broken app_early_exit so that it returns immediately and 
is not fatal, this causes the program to try to continue to execute 
after a fatal error, a dangerous situation (which will probably just 
cause segfaults, but could corrupt data).

I need to speak with some Linden about the new UI stuff to know how to 
go about addressing that.  I can think of a few ways but I'm not sure 
which one is the "right" one.

A fix for app_early_exit if I make one will be posted in a new bug, not 
in VWR-6.
