[sldev] [VIEWER} Mac madness

HI,
it's the pesky OpenJPEG library. It can't decode stuff it encoded
itself if it is uncompressed JPEG2000. This is not Mac specific, but
is a problem with all pure opensource builds. I'd love to be able to
build SL against the libkdu stuff (which is what the official client
uses - a commercial JPEG 2000 library), but so far no luck with that.
If anybody has a hint on how to do that, I would be quite happy,
because it's the biggest problem with the Mac build of the client so
far. There is a jira on that allready:
https://jira.secondlife.com:443/browse/VWR-1815
Another problem I stumbled over is that several mouse cursors are
missing - some show up, some don't. Haven't looked into that for now,
due to the OpenJPEG problems being essentially a show-stopper for what
I want to do (build mac clients based on nicholaz' patches).
The third thing I noticed is that even with 1.18.3 the XCode project
files build universal and deployment with all symbols linked and so
produce monstrous executables - it's one click in the project file to
only link essential symbols and get to the normal executable sizes,
though.
bye, Barney
