Maybe.. Just Maybe, it is so you cannot take a copiable item, keep a copy
for yourself and then sell the other one!

I have often thought the No Transfer permission was a bit of a daft
permission. But there will have been reasons why this was put in, at least I
hope so, beyond what I and perhaps you can see.
