michi,

thx for a really good post on the permissions topic! makes a lot of
sense. i've to admit i was taking the stand that DRM is not going to
work, so let's just drop this whole permissions stuff --- but you are
right, permissions is more like attaching a "license" to objects and
scripts telling the user this is what i want you to be able to do with
the object you just acquired. and it's a license that is rather easy to
understand and not a 100 page EULA.

so, we should have the following permissions:

    * copy/no copy
    * mod/no mod
    * transfer/no transfer
    * for sale/not for sale
    * export to list of region domains/no export
    * export to region domains trusted by list of region domains

and each with the option to make the permission "sticky"; that is, it
cannot be taken away "down the road" --- and for the "for sale"
permission that would fix the price at L$ 0 if sticky?

what do you guys think?

    cheers,
    dirk
