Recently Linden Lab contracted i3Dnow to develop a test harness for LSL.
We are now using it internally and decided we'd like to share it with
the community. The harness is something you rez inworld and command with
a chat interface. It can conduct an arbitrary number of tests and
generate reports either to open chat, email, or even a web page.
So if you're an LSL developer, or simply want to test LSL functionality
across version updates, go to
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/LSL_Test_Harness . The code is linked
there for copy/paste/edit. Instructions for building the harness are
also included. It's pretty simple: create a few objects, stuff them with
indicated scripts, add your test(s), and then use the chat commands.
Alternatively, if you're more ambitious and want to build a harness with
a pushbutton interface, we've included some scripts for various button
objects that duplicate the functionality of the chat commands.
Happy testing!
