[sldev] Missing files in 1.19.1.4 + crash when uploading a texture

I am experiencing some issues while trying to upload images with
both 1.19.1 and 1.19.1.4-RC on Linux. I sometimes get a
"file is empty" message error; I still didn't find a way to reproduce
it consistently; apparently, I manage to succesfully upload the 
same file using a slightly older client.
Do you think it may be related to what you're talking about here?
If yes, how may I provide more useful feedback about this?
