This depends on your GPU class and the options you've got set for
graphics quality. If your GPU's upto it and you have everything on the
settings produce *dramatic* effects to the sky and linden water. You
can't miss them if they are happening :-)

If your GPU's older or settings are down then the effects are very
little pretty much as you describe.
