NO NO NO NO DON'T DO THAT

This is changing fundamental control behaviour. I already have an  
attachment that detects double-taps for its own purposes, and I know  
that there are others out there. An easier way for scripts to detect  
double-taps: yes, great, I'd love to see it. A change in the basic  
response to double-taps: NO NO NO NO DON'T DO THAT.
