I've raised this issue a few times in the past and the response has always
been along the lines of "We want to understand and document the current
protocols before we try to design anything new". It also appears that the
AWG is starting to deviate from this initial documentation strategy but most
of the players are coming from the perspective of users, engineers, or open
source contributors of Second Life and similar implementations (Opensim), so
it makes sense that the current proposals will have a lot of bias towards
the Second LIfe protocol implementation. If you see too many implementation
specific details in the current documents, I know some of us will be
interested in hearing what alternatives you have in mind.
