Yes, you can unlink specific prims from a 200 link set leaving the rest
linked. Then it would be trivial to relink selecting the linkset first
and the prims to go at the head 2nd. You can using edit linked parts
select all prims to unlink and do this in one operation, its not
possible to keep the selection on all (just) the newley unlinked prims
so you still need to reselect these for the relink individually. What
you can do to relink is select the remaining linked prims first, use the
drag selector to select the rest and then just unselected and reselect
the required root prim. WHat this will give you is the original linked
prims, the newly selected prims in *some*order + one that you have set
as the root.
Of cause this becomes less trivial the more prims you need to remove and
of cause how easy it is to access the prims you wish to change a if they
are very small prims they could be hidden and difficult to click on to
select.
