[sldev] Invitation: Grid Architecture Working Group Meeting 2

Dear Colleagues,

In a few weeks, Linden Lab will convene the second Grid Architecture 
Working Group <http://secondlifegrid.net/programs/awg> meeting to 
develop open protocols for virtual world interoperability. We have 
prepared a first set of documents for those protocols, and at this 
meeting we'll be presenting that documentation and working with the 
group to discuss and organize the tasks ahead.

On behalf of engineering director Mark Lentczner, open source program 
manager Rob Lanphier and all of Linden Lab, I'd like to invite you to 
join us in this endeavor. If you or one of your coworkers can contribute 
to this effort, please reply to this email and let me know.
Current participants in AWG include people from leading tech companies, 
virtual worlds and related open source projects, and the Second Life 
open source developer community. Members are committed to producing open 
protocol specifications and demonstrating interoperability for virtual 
worlds. This group is open to anyone willing and able to do this work. 
The product of this group's effort will inform the creation of open 
protocol standards for virtual worlds.

Note: This meeting is an NDA-free zone. Please bring to the table your 
best ideas for creating a shared protocol, but don't share anything that 
you aren't at liberty to disclose.

Where: In Second Life, at the open source theatre on Hippotropolis

Format: This will be a half-day meeting, held in-world, and using the 
voice communication feature of the Second Life client. (Please test your 
microphone and headset before the meeting.)

RSVP: Reply to liana at lindenlab.com by March 6th. Include the Second Life 
name of all attendees from your organization.
