The only way this MIGHT work for me is if the "New IM" button appears
EVEN IF the window is maximized.  Even today I frequently miss messages
because I have so many tabs open the flashing ones are off to the right,
where I don't see them.  And on a busy day, that's just groups with
active (or semi-active) conversations.  If I have to open a tab for
every group I'm interested in in case there might be a conversation, I'm
dead.

And yes, I think this will be a real killer for support-type groups,
because lots of people who might have the answer aren't listening to the
question.
