When I first started digging into the SL protocol, it seemed like just about
everything I tried to do uncovered a security issue. For awhile I thought we
were just doomed, I mean it :D Alot of you who work with the protocol surely
know the sort of thing I'm talking about!

But right now I'm breathing a sigh of relief because from my point of view,
things have been changing fast! Granted, there are still issues, and I'm
sure they won't dry up just yet as I see an increasing number of people
deciding to work with the protocol lately, but as of now I can honestly say
I don't know a way to crash the official viewer or ruin someone's business
just by using the intended client/server protocols on LL's grid.

So I want to thank Linden Lab for responding so well to security issues, and
say congratulations! As far as I'm concerned the response to these issues is
stellar. And I want to extend thanks to everyone who makes an effort to
report security issues. I know many of these people are probably nervous
about talking publically about the things they've seen but they deserve some
recognition. Well here is a huge THANK YOU to EVERYONE involved in helping
improve Second Life in this very important way! :D
