sldev is a technical forum for open source development.
The AWG office hours are a technical forum for interoperability planning.
Neither is a community or legal forum.
If you believe decisions in one forum or the other overstep the domain
of that forum - as they sometimes do - by all means, point it out and
encourage people to raise the issue in the appropriate place. If
debate persists, post a reminder or two. People may not realize that
there are other office hours, lists, or wiki discussions that would be
more appropriate.
Please do not join the push to turn every last forum into a space for
policy debate. It's ineffectual. The people who need convincing aren't
a part of this list. It's also disruptive. Moving the list away from
engineering issues is guaranteed to turn engineers within and without
away from the list, and it's guaranteed to keep things from Getting
Done.
