[sldev] Source/VS2003 1.20.11 RC, all four builds won't compile

Actually I'm now walking backwards through the RC's trying to build
them all. I don't really care which build is successful, just so long
as I can find one RC that is past the preferences move to XML.
For the caching rework project I am muddling along with, I'm going to
have to splice in some new client preferences for the decode-cache and
non-VFS settings, and I'd prefer to be designing that code for the new
XML preferences method rather than the old way in 1.19.1.4.
