Lots of vendors put landmarks to their shops in with the boxed products. This landmark ends up in the inventory folder for the product. This is incredibly useful when you are trying to remember where you got a particular item (to get another, replace it, or just tell others where you got it etc.)
 
Removing landmarks from the inventory would upset a lot of the current practice in this respect!
