It seems to me that where SL is categorized in the repo trees is one thing,
and where it is categorized in the GUI or in the filesystem, are entirely
different things. Correct?
I note that on my laptop (Gentoo/KDE3.5) Google Earth, an app as near to SL
as any in what it is designed to be: A 3D application with a heavy web
influence. It is currently categorized as x11-misc/googleearth in Portage,
under Internet/Google Earth in the KDE menu, and at
/usr/X11R6/bin/googleearth and /usr/bin/googleearth in the FS. Where are
similar apps located in other distros? It may be that this should be an
instance to follow the crowd, but the trick is finding the right crowd to
follow. :P
