Practically speaking, it's hollow PR fluff until the source code is in
our hands. With an acceptable license.
And don't forget, simply opening the source code does not address the
patent license issues with the Siren14 codec. I doubt the codec source
is subject to being open sourced anyway, as ViVox is probably getting
binaries from Polycom.
So ultimately, this does absolutely nothing to help get SLVoice into
distributions such as Fedora. (I'll let Robin speak for Debian.) Only a
liberal patent license to Siren14 or a switch to Speex can do that.
