To repeat:  We can't shutdown the support for in-world map tiles yet, 
because the existing production SL viewers need to access those tiles to 
display the map.   Only after we deploy an official SL viewer that uses 
the S3 tiles, can we consider not creating the in-world map images.    
To my knowledge, this info is totally consistent with what we said at 
release of the new webmap.
