I've addressed the concerns about lip sync in the JIRA issue
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-10311

As far as the "non controversial changes" comment: where did you read
that? Is there a rule about unanimous approval? I'm having trouble
finding any firm guidelines for this "open source viewer" aka
"http-texture" project. I've seen
http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/HTTP_Texture_Development but that is
very thin on details.
