No, your IP address is not shared with anyone.
If you write an application, then that application
can connect to 127.0.0.1 or, if you decide to run
it elsewhere on your LAN, it can connect with
192.168.45.10 or whatever; that is entirely different
from what you state: that some protocol would publish
the real IP to strangers. Nothing like that is in
order whatsoever.
