[sldev] failure to run on windows xp?? build 2547

It could also indicate a problem with the manifest, either embedded or
in separate file not being included in the build, or pointing to a
wrong CRT dll. I am running here on Vista 64, but I have all dev
libraries installed. Perhaps a test on virgin xp install would be
needed.
