Hi folks,

We'd previously been aiming for a Thursday release of Snowglobe 1.0, but
given that we're still checking in the last bits of code, that's looking
less realistic as the day approaches.

What we're much firmer on is getting an RC0 by the end of tomorrow. So,
you'll see a few more checkins tomorrow as we get through the last few
tweaks we'd like to make before sticking a fork in this and calling it
done. The changes are bugfixes cherrypicked from 1.23 that happened
since the last merge - mainly sticking with a couple of crash fixes,
plus a fix for VWR-8818 (Texture Picker & People Chooser lags w/large
inventory), and some fixes to the crash reporter.

Anyway, the RC tomorrow is a true "release candidate". We haven't
budgeted a lot of time for iteration, and we're eager to get this to a
wider audience.

Getting to the subject of this mail: let's make the Thursday OSS meeting
about testing this viewer for general release by doing another test
sprint. Then some time after that, we can go through the list of issues
pretty carefully, and figure out if there's any seriously embarrassing
issues that would stop us from putting this up. If not, we can make a
call on when to declare it ready for primetime. If we're feeling really
bold, the answer would be "let's put it up now!" Here's hoping we're
ready for that!

Rob
