In principle. But in practice, while all features you mentioned are 
very relevant to most SL activities and usecases, group voting
brought little value to SL, according to my experience.
This also meant that group owners rarely bothered to learn how to
correctly set up permissions related to this feature.

I'm not happy in principle with removing any existing feature,
but in this specific case I think it's a sound move - especially
because removing this feature is supposed to improve the reliability 
of another (more important) feature.
