What does Advanced > Output Debug Minidump do?

By the way, it's enabled by default and I see some people 
suggest to disable it when dealing with viewer freezes:

Some comments suggest it provides more informative logs
so I'll keep it enabled by default, but I'm thinking - maybe
it makes sense to disable this when you absolutely need to 
minimize freezes and glitches e.g. making a video?
