I actually like having it going SIM side, exposed to LSL - different
people want to crunch different things out of the data. Right now, the
HUD I built gives me distance and relative direction, as well as all of
the agent status flags, such as flying, typing, sitting, walking, etc...

I rebuilt it out of a freebie one I found - and I then had it split the
list of detected AVs into ones within chat range, and ones outside of
chat range. The whole point being - I made it *MINE*, not a built-in
part of the interface. That means it takes up the screen real estate I
want - not the screen real estate of the mysti-tool, or the Friends
window, or whatever you want to choose.

Of course, should Linden Labs introduce avatar scanning into the UI, I
will probably end up using it, just because it's there. But there's a
fair chance I'll continue using mine, anyway. Because it does what *I*
want it to do.
