While i agree that this maybe could have been phrased better if you
look the GPL Violation due to liability concerns may not actually be
valid

the liability tree goes
LL is liable for the servers being fit for purpose and is also liable
for Gross Negligence for as distributed Viewers (secondlife): example
if somebody goes into a seizure due to using SL 2.0
or if something in the code decides to trash Windows.
A Person doing a from source compile is liable for any changes done
(adding bits and such)
Another person using a TPV is liable for anything done while using the TPV
in short everybody is only liable for what they can control
so if somebody changes a TPV and does a custom compile the TPV
distributor is not liable
(so a NielHack copy of say Emerald does not make the Emerald team liable)
Could a Linden please confirm all of this??
