Fedora 16?  I'm running Fedora 16 64 bit and streaming worked okay for
me yesterday.  I'll be in-world tonight so I'll double check.  The
only thing I can think for you to do is double check you have those
i686 gstreamers installed just in case some Fedora update
accidentally removed one.  If they're still there try reinstalling
them.  I once had to reinstall the i686 nvidia libs to get SL working
after an update.
