The auto-generated baked ones definitely do get deleted, I've personally 
confirmed this with libsecondlife (we don't have baking support yet so 
the results are very obvious when your bakes get deleted from the 
temporary sim cache). They are the only special case sim-local assets 
I'm aware of.
