So long as the rights system exists in-world, you can't say that LL's  
choice of the GPL for the viewer is the final word on anything. And  
the fact that Linus Torvalds interprets the GPL differently from  
Richard Stallman means they get to say what the final word is. And  
the fact that they're using a modified GPL means they also may have  
other differences of opinion from RMS and the FSF.

If they see an advantage to extending the SL economy into the client,  
why wouldn't they do it?
