Hi everyone,

The bug triage went very well, I think. That's not to say that the
process was perfect or anything, but I think it was a good learning
experience.

I placed a list of issues we discussed here:
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/2007-04-13

We either agreed to resolved them (usually "Cannot Reproduce", meaning
that a more useful repro case was needed), or importing them into LL's
internal bug database. Only one remained open for discussion:
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-179
"Cannot edit modifiable items within unmodifiable object"

We get about 50 new bugs/week, which means that we'd need to hold one of
these about 5 times a week to keep up if we continue to do it this way.
I asked the people that were there if it was a good use of their time,
and the feeling seemed to be mixed (with no one saying "omg...this was
the best 90 minutes of my LIFE", oddly enough).

Suggestions discussed:
* Google speadsheet or wiki page with list of bugs to consider. My
vote (probably predictably) is a wiki page.
* Gigs suggested we set up a mailing list especially for dispatching
bugs (slqa?) Since there would be at least something of a scope
boundary between sldev and slqa, it's not something I'd object to,
though I'd like to see strong support for the idea of a separate list
before creating one.

Here's what I'd like to try. I'd like to do this again for my Monday
3pm PDT office hour, but this time, have a very specific, ordered list
to tackle. Here's the list:
https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Bug_triage/2007-04-16

This list was an arbitrary listing of the next issues in the queue. The
first 10 are above the cut line, and the rest are there to move up
should there be time. If no one looks at that list before our meeting,
then it'll work pretty much like last time. If you'd like to request
that an issue you filed get moved up, please request that on the talk
page. Those who show up to the bug triage get priority, and we'll be
more inclined to discuss your issues first.

Over time, we'll probably stop using any of my office hours and my
in-world cube for this, and start having them in a more suitable area.
Where that is is tbd; I may not even be the person running it in the
future (that's my hint to you other Lindens that I wouldn't be offended
if you "steal" it from me). It may be that we break up the triage
meetings by project or component.

Please let us know what you think.

Thanks!
Rob
