[sldev] Group IM broken in released source?

It looks like group IM now doesn't work in the released source. Took me
a long time to realize because I very rarely start one myself, and I
left most groups that used it often.

Here's what I see here:

Can't start conference with friends
Can't start group IM
Can't receive group IM at all

I'm using the source from SVN. Thought it might have been grid problems,
but it looks like it works fine for other people.

I'm asking here in case it's something I maanged to screw up somehow. If
anybody else is seeing this, I'll file a bug on jira.
