I hope so.  I'm trying to do this more frequently myself, when
it seems appropriate.  Being manual, I don't think it's either a
reliable or convenient substitute for the longer-term goal of having
commits turn up more or less 'live' in a public place, but it's
something that can happen right now with the existing infrastructure.
